POONCH, Dec 5: Shia organizations today formed Shia Federation Poonch and unanimously elected Syed Shabbir Hussain as the district president.
Syed Shabbir Hussain Shah, Syed Salim Hussain Shah, Dr Syed Mushtaq Hussain Shah and Khawaja Asger Ali Mir were elected as vice presidents while Dr Syed Ameer Hussain Shah was elected general secretary.
Khwaja Kifait Hussain Sofi and Syed Qalab Abbass Mosvi were elected as joint secretaries, Syed Abid Hussain Safvi as cashier, Alhaj Bashir Hussain Mir, Alhaj Jaffer Hussain Wantoo, Syed Khursheed Hussain Kazmi, Syed Tufail Hussain Shah, Syed Azmat Hussain Shah, Babu Qayoom Hussain Shah, Syed Qurban Hussain Shah as organizers, Anwer Hussain Wantoo was given the post of stage secretary while Saber Hussain, Ahtsham Hussain Bhat and Shafiq Hussain Baba were appointed as publicity secretaries.
The body was formed during a meeting of various Shia organizations, held under the chairmanship of Alhaj Rahat Hussain Nehvi, patron of Anjuman e Jaffria Poonch at Imam Bargah Poonch.
