Shia Federation projects public issues

POONCH, Nov 20: Shia Federation held a crucial meeting at Imam Bargah, Poonch under the leadership of Syed Zaki Haider Kazmi wherein, the problems being faced by the community were discussed.
While speaking on the occasion some demands were highlighted which included provision of link road from Punjab National Bank to Degree College Poonch over the nallah, provision of State/ Waqaf land for the purpose of Eidgah Poonch and Surankote, provision of land for Shia graveyards, completion of roads under construction at village Sangla, Gursai, Sanai, Gulpur, Gali Pindi and other pockets of district Poonch; provision of electricity where electric connections are still awaited, special employment package for the un-employed youth of district Poonch and due political representation to Shia community in Government.
It was also decided that a provincial level meeting will be organized shortly at Jammu under the chairmanship of Provincial president Ashiq Hussain Khan. The participants laid stress for immediate redressal of their long pending demands.
Those who spoke on the occasion included Syed Mohd Raza Rizvi, Syed Nazir Hussain Shah, Alhaj Jafar Hussain Wantoo, Alhaj Mohd Bashir Mir, Ghulam Mohd Wantoo, Dr Syed Iftikhar Jafri, Dr Ameer Jafri, Sheikh Sajad Hussain Poonchi, Dr Irfan Arif, Iftikhar Ahmed Bazmi, Syed Khurshid Kazmi and and others.
