SRINAGAR, June 9: Police today said a Shikarawala drowned in river Jehlum while saving tourist customers in Old City’s Fateh Kadal area.
A Shikarawala, Ghulam Mohammad Guroo drowned while saving his tourist customers yesterday when his Shikara capsized in river Jehlum near Fateh Kadal foot-bridge, said a police spokesman.
“The Shikarawala was saving the tourists and their luggage with the help of another motor boat but unfortunately drowned in the river. All the tourists were rescued and the search to retrieve the body of Shikarawala is going on,” he added.
