JAMMU, Feb 21: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated 47th foundation day-cum-annual day and prize distribution ceremony.
On the occasion, Prof RD Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest, while as Johny William, DIG, Armed Police Jammu presided over the function. ID Soni, Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides was guest of honour. Rita Mengi, trustee of RM College of Education, Ravinder Kour, Principal of RM Public School and Kiran Gupta, Incharge of Shiksha Niketan, Gandhi Nagar were also present.
Principal of the institution Rameshwar Mengi presented the welcome address and annual reports also.
Students presented various cultural items on the occasion, which were highly appreciated by the audience with thundering applauses.
Later, prizes including cheques, medals, trophies and certificates were distributed among the first position holders, distinction holders and national level winners. An amount of Rs 2,60,000 were distributed through cheques by the management of the school.
