KATHUA, July 7: The vehicular movement on Jammu-Pathankote highway came to standstill, when the members of the Shiv Dev Langar Sewa Samiti, who were offering langar sewa to the Shri Amaranth Yatra pilgrims blocked the highway at Akhrote Morh against the maltreatment by the police personnel.
As per sources, the committee members of the Shiv Dev Langar Samiti and the police entered into verbal dual over the parking of the vehicles, carrying Shri Amarnath yatra pilgrims.
After that, amid slogans against Police Department, the Sewa Samiti members came on Jammu-Pathankote highway near Akhrote Morh and blocked the vehicular movement for around half an hour, leading to traffic snarls.
Later, SSP Mohan Lal rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors, they said, adding that the after the intervention of the SSP the protestors dispersed and the vehicular movement on the highway was restored.
