JAMMU, Dec 13: The 10th Board meeting of Shiv Khori Shrine Board was held under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal here today.
Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda was the special invitee in the meeting.
Among others the meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar (Vice-Chairman SSKSB), Director Tourism Sushma Chouhan, Additional CEO SMVDSB Piyush Singla, Executive Officer SSKSB Mahesh Sharma and nominated non-official board members including Sardari Lal Dubey, Arun Gupta, Anupama Sharma, B.S Slathia, A. S. Wazir, Darshan Gupta, V R Gupta and Ravi Magotra.
While discussing the various steps to be taken for beautification of the area, Divisional Commissioner directed the works committee to inspect and approve site plan for construction of park near Shani Mandir.
The board further decided to provide social security and medical insurance to its employees by enrolling them in employees provident fund scheme and Employee State Insurance Corp (ESIC).
The board also approved rationalization of present staff with re-designation of its earlier posts, provision of novelty items through Tourism Department alongwith guidelines to Tourism Department for displaying of advertisements regarding the shrine along Katra Domail and Bamla Akhnoor route.
The Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda while speaking on the occasion asked the board to take requisite steps to maintain and enhance aesthetics and natural beauty of the region. He also stressed on the board members to work in synergy with SMVDSB for diverting the tourists to Shiv Khori and take necessary steps for use of Yatra Registration counter at Railway Station Katra and Jammu Airport to promote the shrine.
The board deferred the construction of multi storey toilet complex for the time with instructions to works committee to firm up the design after taking into account the requirement in the area and giving the contract to Sulabh international on BOT mode.
The Chairman also asked the board to take immediate steps for live telecast of Aarti.
