KATRA, Mar 31: Shiv Kumar Sharma has been re-elected as president of the Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra for the fourth time.
The election was held during general house meeting of the Forum, held at holy town of Katra in District Reasi.
Sukhdev Singh was elected Vice President, Rattan Singh Manhas as General Secretary, Mohan Lal Sharma as Secretary and Om Parkash Magotra as Treasurer of the Forum.
The new body has been elected for two years as per constitution of the Forum. All the members of the Forum participated in election process which was completed in a peaceful manner.
The election process completed under the chairmanship of Koushal Kumar Sharma (Retired Joint Secretary J&K Board of School Education) with returning officer, Kaka Ram (Retired Zonal Education officer) and Dr Hari Krishan Padha with Assistant returning officers.
Out of 53 members, 43 participated in the election process. Senior members included Captain (Retd) Hans Raj, Chanay Ram, Ajit Lal Sharma, Shub Dutt Puri, Mubarik Singh, Mukand Ram Sharma, Rattan Chand, Sansar Chand, Ashok Kumar Verma, Sita Ram Dogra, Darshan Lal Gupta, Suraj Parkash, Santosh Kumar, Onkar Singh, Sunder Dass Sharma, Babu Ram Sharma, Vinod Kumar Vaishnavi, Om Parkash, Mohan Singh, Manzoor Hussain, Dharam Chand, Charan Dass Sharma, Om Raj Sharma, Gopal Krishan and Vijay Gandotra.
Shiv Kumar Sharma assured all the members to service the society and the Nation with full spirit and zeal.
The proceeding of meeting was conducted by the senior member of the forum Chanay Ran.
