JAMMU, July 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Unit of Shiv Sena has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manish Sahni to transfer Hindu employees posted in Kashmir valley to Jammu Division.
Addressing a press conference, President J&K Unit of Shiv Sena Manish Sahni criticized the Union Territory Administration as well as the Central Government for ignoring the genuine demands of the Hindu employees mostly Kashmiri Pandits and the reserved category employees of Jammu region posted in Kashmir valley.
“For the last over two months, Kashmiri Hindus and reserved category Government employees are protesting in Jammu demanding their posting to safer place, but the Government is not ready to even talk about their demand”, Sahni added.
He termed Government’s attitude as a violation of human rights as it has turned a deaf ear to the serious concerns of the aforesaid employees who are in consistent fear after the recent spate of targeted killings of Hindus, other minorities and security personnel in the Valley.
Asserting that these employees are in intense fear especially after the brutal murder of Rahul Bhatt on 12th May and Rajni Bala on 31st May, he said that the aforesaid employees are unable to offer their services in Kashmir valley by risking their lives.
Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to immediately transfer these employees to Jammu division till the situation in Kashmir improves and becomes safe for the minority community people.
Among others present were Parveen Gupta, Rajesh Handa and Naresh Kumar.
