JAMMU, Dec 5: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has demanded permanent capital status of J&K for Jammu.
During an awareness programme here today, Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni said that tourist places of Jammu division should be brought on tourism map and a separate budget for Jammu should be allocated for developmental works.
He said that despite being larger than Kashmir in area and population, Jammu division has not been given justice in terms of Assembly and Lok Sabha seats because of which in the 77 years of history after the merger with India, no Hindu has been able to become the Chief Minister of J&K till date.
“By declaring Jammu as permanent capital of J&K, the economy will get a boost and the allegations of discriminatory attitude with Jammu will also come to an end,” the Shiv Sena leader maintained threatening agitation at district level if these demands are not conceded.
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; working president, Jai Bharti; secretary, Geeta Lakhotra; Dimple, Nitin and others were also present on this occasion.
