Shiv Sena demands start of Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU, June 4: J&K Unit of Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray here today staged a protest demonstration demanding directions by the government for the start of annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji.
Addressing protesters J&K Shiv Sena president, Manish Sahni hailed the statement of Army Chief, General Naravane wherein he had said that army has made all the necessary arrangements for safe Amarnath Yatra.
The Shiv Sena leader expressed hope that now Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra may commence at the earliest as sentiments of crores of Hindus are linked to this pilgrimage.
He said, due to the pandemic and restrictions triggered by it everything across the nation had come to a halt but as now many States and Union Territories including J&K are rapidly moving towards unlock, a ray of hope points normalcy.
He said that as doors of world famous Dwarkadhish temple of Mathura have also been opened for the devotees so there should be no problem in starting Amarnath Ji Yatra.
Sahni suggested that in case the government has any apprehensions pertaining to security or spread of Coronavirus, it should limit the number of pilgrims this year besides focusing on strictly enforcing the COVID SOPs during the Yatra.
He urged upon J&K Lieutenant Governor to look into the matter.
Shiv Sena Women Wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; secretary, Balwant Singh; women secretary, Geeta Lakhotra; Dimple, Vishal Bali and others were also present in the protest.
