Shiv Sena demands start of Amarnath Yatra from June 2

JAMMU, May 7: Hindustan Shiv Sena today demanded the Government to start Amarnath Yatra from Jeth Purnima, which falls on June 2.
Addressing a joint press conference, National president, Hindustan Shiv Sena, Dimpy Kohli, State president, Vikrant Kapoor and general secretary, GI Singh, demanded that the Yatra of Shri Amarnath Ji be started as per Hindu traditions, according to which Yatra should be start from Jeth Purnima (June 2).
They said that all the vehicles carrying langar material and pilgrims should be exempted from Toll tax at Lakhanpur Toll Post and there should be subsidy in any sort of fuel like LPG, Coal or wood used for langar. They also demand subsidy on the fares of foreign and Indian yatris like Hajj pilgrims.
Other demands highlighted by Sena leaders include medical checkup camp and registration facilities at the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar, bearing of all expenses by the shrine board of Amarnath Ji in case of death of any pilgrim during the Yatra, proper arrangements at Railway Station so that the pilgrims may reach base camp without any hurdles, etc.
