JAMMU, Mar 2: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit today staged a protest demonstration against unlawful transportation of cows to Manipur.
Addressing the protesters, Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni said cows are being loaded into trucks and sent to Manipur which is an open violation of Motor Vehicles Act (MVA) 2016 and it also hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus.
He said, as per MVA-2016 special licenses and special type of carts are mandatory for the transport of livestock.
The Shiv Sena leader also said that he has written to the Lieutenant Governor, Divisional Commissioner and RTO Jammu in this regard and demanded a ban on this practice.
Prominent among those present on this occasion were Shiv Sena Women Wing president, Meenakshi Chibber; Working president, Ashwani Gupta; General Secretary, G.I Singh; Vice president, Surjeet Singh, Vikas Dewan and others.
