Shiv Sena, others demand Statehood restoration

JAMMU, June 17: J&K Unit of Shiv Sena, Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray and supporting allies here today staged protest demonstration outside the office of Election Commission demanding restoration of democratic process and Statehood in J&K.
The protest was led by Manish Sahni, president Shiv Sena J&K and supporters like Karni Sena, Sanik Samaj Party whose activists were holding placards with slogans in support of their demands.
Speaking on the occasion Sahni said that after the collapse of PDP-BJP coalition government in June 2018, the entire tenure of a democratic government was completed by Governors and Lieutenant Governors.
He said that Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is visiting J&K on June 23 and if the promise made by him to restore Statehood to J&K is not fulfilled soon then Shiv Sena will oppose his visit by tying black bands.
Spokesperson from Karni Sena, Hoshiar Singh; SSP president J&K, Col. S.S Pathania (retd) and social activist Satish Poonchi demanded early elections.
Chairman, Rakesh Gupta; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; president Kamghar wing, Raj Singh; secretary, Mamta Devi; Shashi Pal, Mangu Ram, Bablu and others were also present in the protest.
