Shiv Sena pays tributes to Shivaji

JAMMU, Mar 21: In a function here today Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni along with other party leaders paid floral tribute to Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion Sahni said that Chhatrapati Shivaji was one of the bravest and sensible rulers of India who founded Maratha Kingdom.
“He was also a symbol of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood who adopted humanitarian policies in his administration,” he maintained adding that many Muslims were at responsible positions in Maratha Kingdom.
“Religion was not a criterion for appointments in his army and one-third of his army consisted of Muslim soldiers,” the Shiv Sena leader claimed.
He said that during the regime of Shivaji, a fear-free environment was there for all religions besides protection of places of worship of Christians and Muslims along with those of Hindus.
Sahni stressed upon the people to maintain traditional brotherhood in J&K.
Shiv Sena general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; chairman, Rakesh Gupta; vice president, Balwant Singh; president Kamghar Wing, Raj Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
