Shiv Sena protests, seeks withdrawal of Toll Tax

SAMBA, July 24:  The activists of  Shiv Sena (Bal Thackery)  held strong protest at Samba town and blocked National Highway for some time here today.
On the directions of the State chief of party Dimpy Kohli and Manish Sahni ( general secretary),  the Shiv Sena activists  led by Samba district president Ramesh Gupta started  protest rally and demonstration  against the State authorities seeking withdrawal of Toll Tax at Lakhanpur and Lower Munda. They were carrying Sena flags and placards in hands.
Shiv Sainiks were  shouting slogans in support of their  demands and also disrupted traffic movement for some time on busy Jammu- Pathankot National Highway. Later, the highway was cleared with the intervention of local police.
On the occasion,  Shiv Sena activists demanded that Govt must stop charging  Toll Tax  at Lakhanpur Check Post and  also announce special financial package for business community in Jammu & Kashmir which is suffering badly due to various reasons.  They said that Government is sleeping and is not taking any interest in the demands which people are raising on day today basis. They said that Government  must awake before it is too, late.
Shiv Sena activists cautioned the Government to launch State wide agitation  if  their demands were not given attention by the Government within ten days. They said  though GST has been implemented but still tax on petrol prices is 56% which should be reduced to 28% according to One Nation One Tax law.  Petrol prices must be brought under the range of  Rs 38-40 per liter.
The J&K is disturbed state and so the Income Tax rate should  also be reduced up to 50% than other States.
