Shiv Sena stages protest against inflation

JAMMU, July 21: Terming the hollow policies of the BJP led Government responsible for economic slowdown, unemployment and unbridled inflation across the country, the Shiv Sena staged a protest demonstration near the Party Central Office, here today.
The protest was held under the leadership of president of J&K unit, Manish Sahni wherein the protestors were railing slogans against the Central Government and said that due to this economic slowdown and unemployment, the J&K has reached top rank in comparison of other States/UT.
Sahni said that the inflation rate in Jammu and Kashmir has remained at an all-time high and the situation is that J&K has become the most expensive place in comparison to the country. “Despite being a Union Territory, there is no relief for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, while levying a five percent GST on food and other essential items has increased the suffering of the common man,” he said.
He alleged that due to lackadaisical approach of the Administration, the expired food items are being sold indiscriminately in Jammu and Kashmir and nobody seems bothered about it. The profiteering mafia does not let any chance to cheat the consumers by keeping the prices of most items intact.
“Since the dissolution of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in June 2018, the bureaucracy continues to fail to control malpractices done by the cheaters,” he said and alleged that the PM Modi led Government has miserably failed to control the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.
Sahni asked the Lieutenant Governor to issue strict instructions for fixing the prices of essential commodities.
Meenakshi Chibber, Vikas Bakshi, Raj Singh, Rajesh Handa, Sukhwinder Kaur, Mangu Ram, Ashok Kumar and Naresh Kumar were part of the protest demonstration.
