JAMMU, July 23: The residents of Shiva Nagar led by Ward councillor, Rahul Kumar held a protest demonstration against the power crisis and blocked the National Highway at Kalibari, near here, today. They raised strong protest and anti Department slogans. The protesters including the women in large number sat on the dharna on the highway. They criticized the Power Development Department for its failure in maintaining regular power supply in one part of Shiva Nagar.
The protestor Rahul Kumar said that one part of Shiva Nagar has no regular power supply and transformer develops snag day today.
As per the power load the transformer installed in the area can not bear the load and breaks down. They demanded to install heavy transformer as per the load. The DySP Kathua, Shammi Kumar rushed to spot after getting the information of road blockage.
He has talked to Power Development Department and pacify the people get their problem solve shortly.
