Shivender bags Ist place in Cartooning Competition

JAMMU, Oct 25: Cartooning and Sketching Competitions were conducted by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu under the Inter-Collegiate/Departmental “Display Your Talent” 2013-14 Competition at Ground Floor Hall, Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu here today.
In Cartooning, Shivender Singh from the Govt. MAM College, Jammu, fetched the First Prize whereas Ramneek Kour from Govt. College for Women, Parade and Mani Krishika Sharma from the Govt. Degree College (Boys), Kathua bagged the Second and Third Prize, respectively.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Ritika Jamwal from The Law School & Rimpla Kumari from Department of Commerce, University of Jammu and Monu Chalotra from Govt. College for Women, Gandhinagar, Jammu.
The Topics for Cartooning were “Onion Crisis”, “Indo-Pak Peace Talks” and “Gol-Gappa Stall Scene”.
Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Co-Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, was the Chief Guest in Cartooning Competition and distributed the prizes amongst the winners.
In Sketching, Hemant Magotra from Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu bagged the First Prize whereas Dimple Kumar and Mukesh Kumar both from the Institute of Music & Fine Arts, Jammu, were adjudged as Second and Third, respectively.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Ramneek Kaur from Govt. College for Women, Parade and Bharti Sharma from Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu.
Renowned Cartoonist Manoj Chopra and Advocate Deeraj Nanda, were the Adjudicators for both the events.
Dr. Sanjana Koul, The School of Bio-Technology, was the Teacher Incharge of this event who apprised the participants about the rules and regulations of the contest.
Prof. Jasbir Singh, Provost, Hostels (Boys), was the Chief Guest in Sketching Competition and distributed the prizes amongst the winners in the presence of Prof. Neeru Sharma, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee and Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Co-Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee.
The programme was supervised by Apoorva Jamwal, Secretary, SCC, Anney Mattoo, Joint Secretary, SCC and Rakesh Kumar.
