POONCH, Apr 12: Station House Officer (SHO), Loran, Insp Ved Parkash was caught red-handed while taking bribe and arrested by a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in district Poonch this afternoon.
Official sources said that action was taken by the CBI office Jammu head, on receiving complaint that SHO Loran was demanding bribe of Rs 10,000 for settlement of a land dispute case at Loran. Accordingly, a trap was organized.
The CBI team from Jammu led by an officer of the rank of DySP, along with a Magistrate in a well organised trap arrested the SHO when he was accepting bribe money at his official residence adjoining Thana this afternoon. The bribe money worth Rs 10,000 was also recovered.
The Police Inspector was arrested and then taken to Jammu in a CBI vehicle, escorted by another police vehicle. He hails from RS Pura area of Jammu district. A case was registered against him.
