JAMMU, Feb 22: A grand Shobha Yatra was taken out today in connection with the birth celebration of Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj here today.
Highly decorated vehicles, turned into the chariots, were the part of this religious procession, which was organised by All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, under the leadership of Piran Ditta, its president. The Shobha Yatra started from the Temple Complex of Guru Ravi Dass Ji Krishna Nagar, on Canal Road Jammu at around 11.30 am.
A large number of women and children besides school students joined the grand religious procession. Famous singers from J&K and outside, sung devotional songs. The vehicles were fitted with loud speakers and the drum and band parties were also the part of this annual Shobha Yatra. Click here to watch video
Shobha Yatra with hundreds of devotees started from Krishna Nagar and then after passing through Jewel Chowk, JP Chowk, Vivekanand Chowk, Sunder Singh Gurdwara. Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, Shalamar Road. Indira Chowk, K C Chowk, B C Road, finally culminated at Krishna Nagar near GGM Science College. The devotes were chanting slogans and singing Bhajans in the praise of great Guru.
Former Minister and Working president of J&K Congress, Raman Bhalla and CWC Member, Neeraj Kundal also joined the procession. They were accorded warm welcome by the Guru Ravi Dass Sabha members. They complemented the devotees and the people in general on this occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that main birthday celebration function will be held at Guru Ravi Dass Ji Temple at Krishna Nagar, Jammu on Feb 24. The Sabha Committee has appealed to the community members to participate in this grand religious function on Saturday.
Prominent among other Sabha members present on the occasion included -Dr Rajpal Hans, Darshan Angral, Raj Kumar Raja and Deepak Bangotra.
