Shodh Sansthan for making Sharda as alternative script for Kashmiri

JAMMU, Jan 9: Pt Prem Nath Shastri Sanskrit Shodh Sansthan in its meeting held through online mood here, today appealed the Government to include the Sharda as an alternative script for the Kashmiri language.
The meeting, which was chaired by chairman of the Sansthan Pt. Omkar Nath Shastri said the Sharda is an ancient and appropriate script for Kashmiri language and the Government should consider it as an alternative script for the Kashmiri. He also demanded introduction of this script in schools and universities as it has gone into oblivion now due non recognition by the Government after 1947.
The meeting made an appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha in this regard and sought his immediate intervention in the matter.
The meeting also highlighted the role played by the Sansthan and Vijeshwar Jyotshi Karyalya in introducing this script among the community people after mass exodus by publishing Sharda primer and holding workshops at different places.
He also said the Sansthan will be reconstituted now in near future by making it a broad based organization.
