POONCH, July 9: A chemist shop was gutted in major fire incident near Sub District Hospital Mandi in Poonch district last night.
Official sources said that at about 11:30 PM during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, fire broke out in a Chemist shop and all the medicines except few on counter were turned into ashes within minutes, as the counter was pulled out by the people and security forces on night patrolling.
Fire and Emergency Services and Police reached the spot and extinguished fire with the help of locals, but shop was gutted before the arrival of Fire tender.
Chemist shop owner was identified as Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Ward Number 2, Poonch.
Station House Officer, Mandi Mukhtiar Ali said that cause of fire was being ascertained.
