Srinagar, Mar 22: A shop was gutted in a big blaze today that raged the Bohri Kadal area here near Rangar Masjid.
According to officials, an emergency call was received around noon, prompting fire tenders to rush to the spot to extinguish the flames.
Eyewitnesses reported that almost everything inside the shop was destroyed in the blaze, although no loss of life was reported.
Meanwhile, the Department of Fire & Emergency Services stated that two of their firefighters sustained injuries during the operation.
Officials mentioned that following the incident, which involved three single-storeyed shops, personnel and equipment from the Fire and Emergency Services Department were dispatched to the site to extinguish the flames.
“During the rescue operation, two firefighters identified as Mudasir Ahmad and Robinder Singh sustained burn injuries and have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the official said.
The official also stated that the fire has been brought under control, and the cause is currently under investigation.
