UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: Property worth lakhs of rupees was reduced to ashes as a shop was completely gutted in fire incident at village Ush Pul Lander in Panchari, last night.
Even as there was no loss of life, all the goods and furniture in the shop were completely gutted in the fire that broke out during the intervening night of October 22-23.
The shop housing general store, clothes and cosmetic items is owned by Jagdish Kumar, son of Khakri Singh. The fire tenders could not reach the spot to douse the flames as the area is non-motorable.
The exact cause of fire could not be ascertained while property worth Rs 7-10 lakh was lost in the incident. The police have taken cognizance of the matter.
