Srinagar, Sept 8: A young boy from South Kashmir’s Shopian district has secured 10th rank in the all-India level NEET-UG examination, bringing laurels to the region.
With a score of 710 out of 720, Haziq Parveez Lone, a resident of village Trenz in Shopian district, is also the topper in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lone said he was positive that he would crack the examinations but featuring in the top 10 was never in his mind. “I put a lot of effort in my studies and was confident I would succeed. But I never imagined that I would end up in the top 10. My efforts have paid off, and I am contented,” he said.
Haziq comes from a middle-class family, and his father owns a fruit business. He credited his parents, teachers, and effort for his accomplishment. “I am incredibly grateful to Allah, the Almighty, for this achievement. I also want to thank my parents and teachers, especially those at Aakash Institute Srinagar, for helping me along the way,” he said.
Haziq attended Dolphin Public School in Pulwama up till the 8th grade before transferring to Shah-e-Hamdan Public School in Shopian. He was enrolled in the Government Higher Secondary School Turkwangam Shopian for the 11th and 12th grades after clearing the 10th-class exams.
According to a teacher from the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Turkwangan, Haziq was consistently a brilliant student and never missed a class. “He possessed two traits that were helpful to him. He was obedient and maintained a good relationship with his teachers,” he said.
