Shopkeeper among two arrested with contraband

JAMMU, May 7: Kishtwar and Banihal Police arrested two drug peddlers including a shopkeeper along with contraband.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Kishtwar led by SHO Inspector Abid Bukhari under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Devinder Singh Bandral conducted raid in a shop at Shakti Nagar and apprehended its owner along with 300 intoxicant tablets and 200 grams cannabis.
The arrested person was identified as Mohammad Iqbal, son of Bashir Ahmed of Keshwan, at present Shakti Nagar District Kishtwar.
A case under FIR Number 84/2021 under Section 8/20/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Banihal during checking at T-Chowk intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 136 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Ajay Kumar Sambhal, son of Ram Chand, a resident of Batal Ballian District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 88/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
