UDHAMPUR, Aug 25: In drive against illegal sale of dreaded Chinese thread (Gattu), Police team of PS Udhampur conducted raids and arrested a shopkeeper for selling the banned item.
Police also seized 91 rolls of Chinese thread from the shop at Arya Samaj Gali. The arrested shopkeeper was identified as Amit Gupta, son of Sham Sunder of Kallar, Udhampur
In this regard, a case under relevant section of law has been registered at PS Udhampur.
Meanwhile, Udhampur police recovered 15.5 grams of contraband substance heroin from a narcotic smuggler at Jakhani, Udhampur.
The accused, identified as Ajit Kumar, son of Dev Raj of Malhar, Udhampur, has been arrested. In this connection, a case FIR number 325/2021, U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur.
