JAMMU, Aug 12: Peer Mitha Police arrested a shopkeeper for selling dreaded Chinese thread (gattu).
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Peer Mitha Police Station conducted raid at Mohallah Jaktatina and apprehended a shopkeeper along with 14 pieces of dreaded Chinese thread (gattu).
The shopkeeper was identified as Rakash Kumar, son of Babu Ram Gupta of Mohalla Jaktatina.
A case under FIR Number 47/2020 under section 188 IPC was registered against the shopkeeper at Peer Mitha Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the thread.
It is pertinent to mention here that a man was killed due to this Chinese thread few days back in the jurisdiction of Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station.
