UDHAMPUR, Oct 29: A shopkeeper committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling fan hook at his shop, here last night.
The deceased was identified as 42-year old Amit Gupta, son of Daya Ram, resident of Ward Number 14, Udhampur. He was found hanging under mysterious circumstances at his grocery shop near Air Force Station, Udhampur.
On being informed, Police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur for the postmortem.
Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case under Section 174 CrPC for further investigation.
