Shopkeeper duped of Rs 14,600

POONCH, Mar 21: A shopkeeper was duped of Rs 14, 600 in an online fraud in Poonch district today.
Shopkeeper namely- Rustum Mir said that he received a call on the name of an Army officer and asked him to deliver grocery items and get payment online, subsequently he sent the items in load carrier with a bill of Rs 14, 600.
He said, ” I received a call again and a person on call was pretending as higher official, he sent me scanner and told to send one rupee, I did the same and received two rupees in back, after which he sent me another scanner and told that you will receive your payment from this, when I used that Rs 14, 600 debited from my account and the person didn’t received call after that.
“On the other hand the items to be delivered were not received and the person on call who was supposed to take the goods was not on the place of delivery” while after checking these mobile numbers were Rajasthan based,” Mir added.
Meanwhile, the shopkeeper approached police, and registered a complaint there along with RBI for refund of the amount.
