JAMMU, Aug 3: Indu Shekhar, a talented young filmmaker, has won Best Director Award and his short film Anmol has won ‘Best Experimental Film Award at Satyajit Mrinal Ritwik International Kolkata Film Festival 2023, held at Kolkata.
His short film ‘Anmol’ has also won best Story Award at Chambal International Film Festival 2023. ‘Anmol’ is a story of an ambitious, hard working, dedicated guy who leaves everything behind in order to fulfil his dreams but later realizes that he left all his relations and becomes alone.
After winning award, Shekhar expressed gratitude to all the team members who worked in the making of the short film. The artists who contributed in this project are Rohan Kapoor, Susheel Raina, Sakshi Parkash, Shefali Sharma, Purav Khajuria, Amit Raina, Shubham Sharma, Pallavi Jamwal, Ravinder Manhas, Aman Raina, Anchita Misra, Sachin Bamba, Sachin Sharma and Divyanshu Bhagat.
Shekhar has completed his Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from Chandigarh University and Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from Central University, Jammu.
He has made seven Independent short films till date. His portfolio profile was shortlisted for “75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow” programme held at 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa.
