While appearing for the XII public examination, the singular question that haunts the parents and students is ‘Which college’? What degree? You would have zeroed in on your dream college or degree, but have you ever thought what would happen if you do not land there?
Is a college degree absolutely essential?
No doubt an academic degree is a passport to success and gives you an umbrage in your career ladder, but lacking an educational degree does not mean you will not succeed; a degree is only an achievement and not indicative of your skills and ambitions.History is replete with instances of people who have succeeded, some far beyond even general standards, without having a college or even a high school degree.
There are different alternatives to being successful than getting a college degree. You have such things as going into the military, studying abroad, taking up certifications, and even becoming an entrepreneur. Our society makes it known from when we are young that college is basically the only way to be a successful person. College degrees do not guarantee a job, they just give rise to an academic inflationof too many degrees chasing too few jobs. There are many ways in which you can overcome and override this academic inflation and theoretical warming.
