Shortage of drinking water triggers protest

DODA, July 7: Residents of Punakher village, Gundana here today staged a protest demonstration demanding proper water supply in their village.
They alleged that PHE department ignored their plights regarding shortage of drinking water.
Romesh Kumar-a local of Punakher said the administration and PHE department have failed in providing them drinking water for the last one month and more than 800 people are suffering due to this.
Shulinder Parihar also had similar views.
Meena Devi said while the people are scared of Coronavirus and hesitate to come out of homes the women and children of the area are forced to move out to fetch water from far flung natural sources.
The locals have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, G.C Murmu to direct Jal Shakti Department for permanent solution to the water problem.
