“Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) charges Rs. 30,000; Rs. 70,000 and Rs. 1,25,000 from others ranks, Junior Commissioned Officers and Officers respectively as one time charge for its membership for ensuring regular supply of medicines and treatment in empanelled hospitals of ECHS,” he maintained adding: “Erratic and irregular supply of medicine has caused hardships to approximately 85,000 members and their dependents who come from far flung areas and don’t get medicines.”
Col. Pathania stated that some type of red tapesim is causing this problem while there is no dearth of funds in Jammu and BD Bari Polyclinics.
He urged the Station Commander Jammu and Director Rajya Sainik Board to make use of their good offices to resolve this issue at the earliest.
