JAMMU, Sept 27: An Assistant Scientific Office (ASO) in the Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, J&K, has been issued show cause notice for unsatisfactory performance in analyzing and reporting the NDPS cases.
According to the show cause notice, Dr Rais, Ahmad Shah, ASO, C&T, FSL Srinagar, examined, analyzed and reported less than one third of the NDPS cases in comparison to his counterparts during the last two months.
Maintaining that performance of the officer has remained totally abysmal and unsatisfactory despite repeated verbal directions issued by then Director FSL J&K, and the Deputy Director Narcotics/ Chemical Division, FSL Jammu/Srinagar, the notice said that lackadaisical approach of the officer towards his professional duties has led to accumulation of NDPS and UAPA cases in FSL, hindrance in the implementation of the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan, avoidable delay in criminal justice and breeding indiscipline in the rank and file of the FSL.
“The pathetic performance of duty on your part, leading to these consequences, attract imposition of major penalty on you under J&K Civil Service Rules, 1965, which is Dismissal, Removal from Service or Permanent retirement on proportionate Pension. Now, therefore, before initiating disciplinary proceedings against you under the Rules, you are directed to submit your reply to this office within a period of seven days,” reads the show cause notice, issued by Director FSL, J&K, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar.
