SHRC seeks report on lack of medicines in hospitals

SRINAGAR, July 5: State Human Right Commission has sought report from Director Health Services Kashmir on shortage of medicines in the hospitals.
Taking suo-moto cognizance of the report, Chairman of the Commission Justice (Retd) Bilal Nazki while passing the orders directed the Director Health Services Kashmir and Managing Director JK Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (JKMSCL) to file their response within a week.
In other case filed by one Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Khan of Rawalpora Beeru Budgam wherein it is stated that a 14 year old boy fell into a 60 feet ditch and died. The ditch was dugged by the R & B Department. The factum of the incident was admitted by the R&B Department and the police. Chairman of the Commission recommended compensation of Rs.3.00 lakhs in favour of the NOK’s of the deceased child. The authorities concerned were directed to file the compliance report in the matter within six weeks.
