‘Shri Gou Gopal Mahayagya’ from Dec 19

JAMMU, Dec 17: As an annual affair, the 11-day long ‘Shri Gou Gopal Mahayagya’ is being solemnized at Sohanjana from December 19 to 29 in which noted Sanskrit and religious scholars and saints are participating.
A handout stated that the 108-Kundiya Mahayagya is part of the birth anniversary celebrations of Shri Dewarika Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj-a renowned saint and religious preacher having devotees across the country.
Birth anniversary of Shastri Ji falls on December 25. Giving information in this regard here today, Gangadhar Ji Maharaj told reporters that the Yagya is being solemnized at the open Tawi islands near holy Samadhi Sathal of Shri Shastri Ji Maharaj and it will commence from December 19 and conclude on December 29 with Puranahuti.
“A large number of renowned saints and religious scholars are joining to participate in the Yagya and to shower blessings on the devotees. Besides, many famous devotional singers are also participating in the Yagya,” he disclosed.
Gangadhar Ji Maharaj further informed that on December 25, grand Rath Yatra will be taken from the holy Samadhi Sathal and will proceed towards the Yagya venue while on December 26 there will be a Dangal at the open ground adjacent to the Yagya venue.
Swami Ji further informed that as part of the celebrations, Shri Ram Naam Sankirtan has already been started at the holy Samadhi Sathal of Shri Shastri Ji Maharaj and will conclude on December 29.
He also urged the devotees not to bring any polythene carry bags both at holy Samadhi Sathal and Yagya venue.
