BHADERWAH, Sept 13: The annual Shri Vasuki Naag Kailash Yatra-2023 organized by J&K Dharmarth Trust successfully concluded here today.
The ceremonial Puja and other rituals were performed by Ashok Sharma (retired SSP), Secretary Dharmarth Trust by offering ‘Halwa Bhog’ to Shri Vasuki Naag Ji Maharaj and Pagris to Chelas at the revered Shri Vasuki Naag Mandir in Gatha, Bhaderwah.
The Puja, held on September 11, 2023, marked the commencement of Yatra and the rituals of Holy Mace were also performed in traditional manner.
One of the highlights of this pilgrimage was the invaluable contribution of ‘Bajantris’ (traditional folk musicians of Bhaderwah), who played an important role in making the Yatra successful and their melodious tunes resonated through the picturesque landscapes, enhancing spiritual experience for all the participants.
On the instructions of Chairman Trustee and Trustees, the Secretary personally inspected the meticulous planning and execution undertaken by Trust’s management, ensuring comfort and safety of pilgrims.
He said that with cooperation and support of District Administration Doda and people of the area, the Yatra has been successfully concluded.
“The efforts of District Administration Doda for providing essential necessities like food, water and electricity at Kailash Kund, located at a staggering altitude of 14,500 feet were instrumental in ensuring Yatra’s success and well-being of all participants,” he maintained.
Expressing his vision for Kailash Yatra, Sharma emphasized that this Yatra should be upgraded and promoted to the national level like Amarnath and Kedarnath Yatras to promote the cultural heritage of Bhaderwah.
“The Yatra also symbolizes the sense of brotherhood, secularism and compassion between several communities,” he continued adding: “Dharmarth Trust is committed to preserve and enhance this sacred tradition, inviting devotees from far and wide to experience the divinity and cultural richness of Bhaderwah.”
