Skills to be expanded in J&K: Nehru

JAMMU, Feb 16: Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Palwal Gurugram, Haryana and Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which short-term courses will be run at Gandhi Memorial College, Raipur Bantlab. Through this MoU, important work will be done in the direction of opening new avenues of skill education and employment in the UT. Thousands of youth of J&K will be linked with employment and benefitted by making them skilled. To implement this, the faculty of J&K will be trained and their coordination will be made with skill education.
The MOU was signed today in presence of Vice Chancellor of the University, Raj Nehru by its Registrar Prof. R.S. Rathore and President HESK, Prof. BL Zutshi.
Prof. B.L. Zutshi said that Raj Nehru is a unique example of what HESK has given to the society. He said that this initiative will benefit thousands of students from all over Jammu division.
Raj Nehru, said that “We are looking forward to promoting skill education in all the states of the country. In this sequence, an MoU has been signed with HESK and five short term courses will be run there for the students of J&K, he added.
Nehru said that with this exercise, a good environment will be created for skill education and self-employment in J&K. This MoU will prove to be very decisive for the career of the youth of J&K. Teachers associated with technical education of J&K will be made more efficient by training them. Along with this, the institutions and youth of the UT will be strongly linked with the industry so that they can take advantage of new employment opportunities.
Nehru said that “We have also reserved two seats in all courses in our University for the students of J&K. Prof. Registrar of University R.S. Rathore, Ambika Patial, Joint Director Department of Assessment and Certification of the University also spoke on the occasion.
Dean Academic, Prof Jyoti Rana, Joint Director of Industry Integration, Vineet Suri, Joint Director of Skill Innovators, Foundation, Ammar Khan , Business head of ACD, Saroj Mishra, OSD to VC, Sanjeev Tayal, Assistant Registrar Shiksha Gupta and Isha Warikoo were also present.
