JAMMU, Dec 5: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) has declared that the temple and shrine bill for the protection and preservation of the temples and shrines of Hindus in Kashmir valley shall be the focus of this year’s Chetna Divas.
This was stated by different speakers at the interactive meeting organized by the Trust in different parts of the city. Beginning a series of meetings in preparation for the commemoration of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of the identity and culture in the valley, PNBMT has set out a comprehensive program of interactive meetings with the community at large.
The Trust has decided that interactive meetings shall be held in different parts, like Gangyal, Bohri, Bantalab, Roop Nagar, Subash Nagar, Patoli, Muthi, Laalee Da Baag and the camps to seek the opinions of the common people on the issues facing the community in the 25th year of their exile.
A large number of people participated in the interactive meetings held at Patoli and Laale Da Baag including Dr AN Pandita, Dr RL Bhat, Manmohan Thaplo, MK Jalali, Shiban Khaibri, Virinder Raina, HL Bhat, RL Pandita, SL Koul, Jai Kumar, BL Zar, Rajinder Sharma, Shadi Lal Koul, RN Vazir, BL Bhat, TK Wanto, ML Ganjo, AK Koul, RK Razdan, BL Pandita, SS Razdan, KK Razdan, CL Thuso, MK Wanto, MK Raina, Kashmiri Lal, Rajinder Saraf and PL Bhat.
While raising different issues facing the exiled people, the public stress has been mostly on the betrayal by different political parties on the most crucial issue of the Temple and Shrine Bill.
The public and speakers at the meetings held so far have noted that though Chetna Divas is dedicated to the martyrdom of Prem Nath Bhat and countless other sons of the soil who have rendered the supreme sacrifice, Shrine Bill should be the focus at this year as it is the embodiment of the plight of the exiled people.
PNBMT has decided that Shrine Bill shall be the focus on occasion of Chetna Divas on December 27 at auditorium of Government Women College, Gandhi Nagar.
