JAMMU, Feb 4: A deputation of Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC) led by its president, Rajeev Charak met Farooq Khan, Advisor to J&K Lieutenant Governor and demanded constitution of Shrine Board for Bawe Wali Mata temple.
Submitting a memorandum in this regard Charak informed Farooq Khan that historic shrine of Mata Maha Kali at Bahu Fort, which is popularly known as Bawe Wali Mata temple, houses the Kuldevi of Jammu.
The BFDC president claimed that lack of development at the shrine since hundred years and added that an inn, passenger shed etc are immediately required there.
He also claimed that the site has been declared as protected monument by the Archaeology Survey of India.
Charak further said that the Shrine is visited by number of pilgrims and the number is growing every year.
He also said that constitution of Shrine Board will provide the much needed development at the shrine in a professional manner.
The Advisor listened to the deputation and assured to take the matter with Lieutenant Governor, G.C Murmu.
BFDC Chairman, Baldev Raj Nagotra; Spokesman, Advocate Ishant Gupta; General Secretary, Raghav Mahajan; Vice President, Ishant Mahajan and Legal Advisor, Advocate Varun Gupta were also present in the deputation.
