JAMMU, Mar 28: Taranjeet Singh Tony, DDC Member Suchetgarh, said that it was time to teach a lesson to BJP and Congress leadership for playing divisive politics in J&K by not giving them a single seat in the upcoming Assembly elections.
He was addressing a series of public meetings in Simbal, Nandpur Gujran and Ward number 11 in R S Pura where youth leader Parvinder Singh Happy accompanied him. During the meetings, scores of youth expressed their faith in the leadership of T S Tony and assured wholehearted support to him in the ensuing elections in J&K.
Condemning yesterday’s anti-encroachment drive conducted at Bathindi, Tony said that first they should punish the officers who allowed such constructions and the losses should be recovered from their pockets even if they are posted out or retired.
Tony said that restoring statehood to J&K was his prime objective. He said that the Government should immediately take decision on the regularization of PHE and other daily wagers and also appealed that the Government should look into the issue of candidates of CISF, Border Battalions.
Addressing the meetings, Parvinder Singh appealed to the youth to vote and support T S Tony in the upcoming Assembly elections. He also said that the time has come when the people should shun BJP and Congress for their dirty and divisive politics. He said that inflation and unemployment are skyrocketing and the Government is not doing anything to resolve the both. He said when the country was going for elections in five States, BJP opted for hiatus on the daily increase on petrol and diesel prices and even reduced the prices by Rs 10 and soon after the results of elections, the deceptive party again hiked the fuel prices by Rs 2 per litre and LPG cylinder by Rs 50, which shows the true and ugly face of BJP.
Prominent among those who were present, included Sham Lal Bhagat, contesting MLA candidate Suchetgarh, Sai Ahmed, Kundal Lal Sharma, Dr Charanjit Channi, Panch Tony, youth leader Kaka Singh and Sarpanch Shashi Bhagat.
