DODA, May 16: Incharge Police Post Khellani was today caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe.
The accused, Sub-Inspector Rahul Dogra was caught red handed by a special surveillance squad of Vigilance Organization Jammu, headed by Tahir Ashraf under the supervision SSP M Y Kichloo.
He was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant Tanveer Ahmad of Parano, Doda for not arresting the latter in a case. The tainted money was recovered from the accused officer in presence of independent witnesses and he was taken into custody after completion of legal formalities.
A case FIR number 12/2014 under Section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006 read with 161 RPC has been registered in Police Station VOJ. Further investigation in the case is in progress.
