SIA files supplementary charge sheet against two terrorists

JAMMU, May 17: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) today filed supplementary charge sheet against two terrorists involved in number of terror acts and activities in Kandi area of Budhal in the border district of Rajouri.

The case was registered in Police Station Mahore where two terrorists were arrested with huge quantity of automatic weapons from Budhal area by police and security forces.
During sustained interrogation, more recoveries of sticky grenades, hand grenades, IEDs were made on their disclosures. Since, this case was important in nature and involvement of more terrorist associates was anticipated, the case was transferred to the SIA Jammu, an official statement said.
The investigating agency put strenuous efforts and as a result the duo confessed their involvement in number of terrorist acts including killing, injuring and firing upon innocent persons, grenade throwing in a marriage party and planting of IEDs at crowded places in Kandi Budhal areas causing extensive damage to Government properties.
The terrorists were active since long and carrying out the terror acts at the behest of a top ranking terrorist of proscribed outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Mohd Qasim alias Salman alias Waseem S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Angralla in Reasi district, who had exfiltrated to Pakistan for arms training during the year 1990.
The accused persons had received huge quantity of arms and ammunitions and other war like stores through drone dropping from different places in Lamberi area of district Rajouri and then shifted the same to Kandi Budhal area for terrorist acts, on the instructions of the Pak handler.
The main charge sheet of the case was filed before the Court on 29.12.2023 by the SIA Jammu.
During further investigations, two more associates of LeT were taken into custody by the SIA and were put under sustained interrogation, who confessed their involvement in number of terrorist acts, shifting of automatic arms and its ammunitions including other war like store items from Lamberi to Kandi Budhal area in association of the accused person Talib Hussain Shah, who was earlier arrested along with sophisticated weapons and its ammunitions.
The duo had voluntarily joined the LeT outfit on the motivation of Pak handlers. They were also found involved in number of FIRs registered against them in Kandi Budhal area for their involvement in terrorist activities.
The deep rooted conspiracy of LeT module to expand their terror activities in Rajouri and waging the war against sovereignty and integrity of India has been exposed with the arrest of four active terrorists, the statement said.
The investigation of the case is on for the arrest of more associates of the LeT module, it added.
