Sibal breaks silence, praises Modi, says ‘well done’

NEW DELHI:
Breaking his silence almost a year after the Congress lost power, senior minister in the previous Manmohan Singh Government Kapil Sibal today praised NDA Government at the Centre and said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, world leaders and markets are taking notice of India.
The former minister, who handled vital portfolios in the UPA Government said, “Well done, I say. India needs this. In fact, India needed this rocket-boost for a very long time.”
In an article, titled ‘pause and reflect’, posted on his website, the former union minister, and one of chief trouble shooters for the UPA Government said, “In the year gone by, I have spent a lot of time to pause and reflect on the people’s 2014 Lok Sabha mandate, the issues we face as a nation, as well as on what lies ahead.”
Talking about the Modi Government’s positive image, Mr Sibal said, “Perfectly timed invitations, and perfectly placed punch lines drew crowds and attention to India and its people; with it Prime Minister becoming master of ceremonies, to national-pride fuelled audiences.”
“Naturally, when a billion odd people rise together, world leaders and markets are bound to sit up and take notice,” he added.
As a word of caution, he reminded, “boosters detach themselves from a rocket as it goes into space. Then the spaceship has to power itself, and travel its course alone, and in a vacuum.” (AGENCIES)
