Sibal on day’s Valley visit today

JAMMU, July 20: Union Minister for Human Resources Development, Kapil Sibal, who also holds additional charge of Communications and Information Technology, would pay a day’s visit to the Kashmir valley tomorrow and inaugurate Dooru Degree College in Verinag area of South Kashmir.
On his arrival at Srinagar tomorrow morning, Mr Sibal would fly to Dooru Assembly constituency, held by Congress MLA and former Minister, GA Mir and inaugurate newly constructed Dooru Degree College at 11 am.
Mr Mir and other Congress leader would accompany Mr Sibal during his tour.
After inauguration of the Degree College, Mr Sibal would address a public meeting at Dooru.
The then Union Minister for Human Resources Development, Arjun Singh had laid foundation of Dooru Degree College during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Arjun Singh has since passed away.
Though no formal review of Jammu or Kashmir Universities has been slated during Mr Sibal’s meeting, he would meet some Kashmir University officials during his visit.. He will also visit Cultural Academy and have inter-action with the artistes before returning to New Delhi in the evening.
