SIDCO fails to handover Balol land to people: BBIA

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Oct 23: Bari Brahmana Industries Association Jammu has alleged that SIDCO authorities have failed to hand over the possession of new Balol Industrial Estate land to the owners.
A meeting of the BBIA was held here today under the chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan, president in the presence of office bearers Tarun Singla, Ajay Langer, Viraaj Malhotra, Rajesh Jain and Vivek Singhal to discuss the problem being faced by unit holders for getting possession of the land allotted by J&K SIDCO in Balol Industrial Estate.
It is pertinent to mention here that J&K SIDCO took up the matter with the Deputy Commissioner Samba on August 13, 2016 for the preparation of Revenue documents of 200 kanal of land along the Balol Nallah but allotted a huge chunk of State land about double of it, since 2017 onward, in-spite of the facts that land was not in their possession and in some cases the lease deeds have been executed in Samba court by the Estate Office Bari Brahmana by showing the land in their possession as per the site plans enclosed with the lease deed documents duly registered in the Samba Court.
It is a matter of great concern that in some cases SIDCO has taken the full premium of land and advance rent of two years for the land which is not yet in the possession of the Corporation and in such cases now the Estate Office of the SIDCO shown their helpless for the handing over the possession of the land due to non- availability of the land documents resulting the uncertainty prevails in the mind of unemployed youth who have  invested their hard earned money or borrowed the loans for the setting up of their units and paying the huge amount as interest to Banks and running from pillar to post to get the matter resolved. The BBIA has sought intervention of Governor and Chief Secretary into the matter.
