JAMMU, May 23: Chairman Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jammu and Kashmir for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs, and District Development Council (DDC) Member Suchetgarh, TS Tony today said that Modi Government demeaned G20 event by keeping away the leadership of major political parties from the summit.
In a statement issued here, Tony said that sidelining all the political outfits except BJP has badly exposed government’s prejudice towards political leadership in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting in J&K was a wonderful opportunity for the people but the government’s narrow-mindedness has made it a limited affair because if more entities were invited to the summit naturally better results and good suggestions would have followed.
He said that the misdemeanor has been allowed only because there was no elected government in the Union Territory. “Had there been a popular government in place in J&K, such a blunder would have never allowed to happen”, he said adding that BJP leadership both at the Centre and in J&K possessed myopic vision and that is the reason behind such imprudent decisions and moves. He, however, maintained that G20 event in J&K was a historical moment for the people of J&K and things would have turned much better if the government led by BJP has taken right decisions and invited representatives of all the mainstream parties.
