Signature campaign for Sanskrit University held

JAMMU, Aug 9: Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avam Vedic Sanasthan Trust here today started a signature campaign to establish a Sanskrit University in J&K.
In a handout the Trust claimed that thousands of people signed and supported for the establishment of Sanskrit University in J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahant Rohit Shastri, Trust Head said: “Sanskrit was used as a communication language in J&K for a long time.”
He further said that students from all over India used to come here to study Sanskrit as J&K was a major center for Sanskrit studies where scholars from other countries of Asia also visited.
On this occasion Ashok Shastri, Head of Dogra Brahman Sabha, Akhnoor; Shiv Kumar Gupta, chairman, All India Fawa Mahajan Biradri and others were also present.
