SRINAGAR, Sept 21: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has said stern action should be taken against those involved in the recent killing of innocents in the district.
Raina also appealed the residents of Shopian district to come out and depose before the enquiry commission set up to probe the killings that took place in the district on September 7 and 11.
In a statement, APSCC Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said that justice can only be done when the people record their statements before Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, who has been appointed as the enquiry officer in the incident.
Raina said that people should be vigilant about the elements who want to play with their emotions on this incident and exploit them as well. He asked the State Government to play its part to perfection so that action is taken against the guilty. He said all the people should join their hands so that there is peace in Shopian and the area does not face any further economic slump.
“All the good work done in the recent past has been dusted due to the unfortunate incidents like the one at Shopian. The State Government without wasting any further opportunity should invite separatists for talks so that there is an end to the stalemate. On the other hand the report of interlocutors should be implemented so that some confidence is inculcated among the masses,” said Raina.
